What is the Management Strengthening Support Subsidy?

Targeted Businesses

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and individual business owners as defined in Article 2 of the Small and Medium Enterprise Basic Act (Law No. 154 of 1963).

(1) For corporations:
Must have a head office located within the ward, with the head office and its registration address being the same (Virtual offices are not eligible.)
Must not be in arrears with corporate inhabitant tax or corporate business tax.
(2) For individuals:
Must have a business establishment within the ward (Virtual offices are not eligible.)
Must not be in arrears with resident tax or individual business tax.

! Excluded Businesses
Sexual entertainment as stipulated in the Entertainment Business Control and Improvement Act (Law on Regulation and Improvement of Business Practices Related to Entertainment and Amusement, etc.)
Individuals related to organized crime groups as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 3 of the Shinjuku Ward Ordinance for the Elimination of Gangster Syndicates (Ordinance No. 59 of October 15, 2012)
Businesses not covered by Article 2 of the Small and Medium Enterprise Basic Act (Law No. 154 of 1963)
(Examples: NPOs, general incorporated associations, medical corporations, etc.)

From April 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2025. (postmark valid)

Create the necessary documents and submit them by mail.

Note

It is uncertain whether the budget for Shinjuku Ward will be increased if there are many users. Therefore, it is advisable to apply once the project is completed, rather than waiting until the end of the fiscal year.

This subsidy is based on the premise that businesses in Shinjuku Ward will "commission work to companies and businesses in Shinjuku Ward."

In the application guidelines under "4. Application Period, Application Method, etc., (6) Utilization of Local Businesses," the following is specified:

"When implementing the project, we request that you make use of businesses within Shinjuku to the fullest extent possible."

It's natural to consider this as a criterion for the selection review process, ensuring that Shinjuku's public funds are utilized within Shinjuku.
